History

 

The St. John's Eagantown Cemetery was established in 1888. It is located on the North-East corner of Black Hawk Road and Diffley Road in Eagan.

The St. John's Lutheran Church was a small church and was located in the center of the cemetery.

In 1910 a new church was built on the West side of Black Hawk road (West side of the cemetery).

In 1918 the church was struck by lightning which caused the church to burn down.

In 1919 A new church was built.  The church moved to Rosemount, MN in 1938.

In the spring of 2002 the old wrought ironed sign (picture on the left) was replaced by a new granite one. (picture on the right)
